MECK Pre-K is a high quality pre-K education open to all four-year-old children in Mecklenburg County at no cost to families. If your childcare center is licensed by the State of North Carolina and meets our criteria, your center and your families can benefit from hosting a MECK Pre-K Classroom!
Why Host a MECK Pre-K Classroom?
Family Recruitment
- MECK Pre-K partners with the center to recruit families to their MECK Pre-K program. This year, many MECK Pre-K classrooms were full and/or had a waiting list.
- Once a family expresses interest, MECK Pre-K handles all other aspects of enrollment and placement.
- A child attending the MECK Pre-K program is more likely to bring with them younger siblings for other classrooms in the center.
Teacher Recruitment,
Support & Training
- MECK Pre-K classes are taught by licensed teachers and highly qualified assistant teachers.
- Teachers receive support such as professional development, scholarships, weekly visits from Success Coaches and more.
- MECK Pre-K teachers share their expertise and learnings with other teachers at the center.

- MECK Pre-K provides all the furniture, materials, curricula, and beginning of year consumables for each MPK classroom, reducing overhead costs for hosting centers.

Attend An
Information Session!
The Site Selection Interest Letter will include information on the information session, where you can learn more about the benefits and how to apply.
